I spent the whole day Saturday at the San Diego Renaissance Faire in Balboa Park. This is a wonderful little faire, very enjoyable.
It was a very hot, bright day --- fortunately I remember my sunscreen and drank lots of liquids. Unfortunately, I neglected to put sunscreen on my hands, and they are a nice shade of bright red right now.
One of the really nice things about this faire is the grass. Many faires are dusty; Geln Helen was one of the worst offenders in this regard. The San Diego faire is based enitrely on grass, which makes it dramatically more enjoyable.
I was surprised at how many people from Irwindale I ran into at San Diego. It was great seeing so many friends again.

Well Met
Good to see you again Rich. Another excellent job of photographic documentation, but of course, that always goes without saying.
I agree with you, San Diego is a sweet little faire, and that beautiful grass, along with the abundant trees, does have a lot to do with it. Nice afternoon breezes this year too. And what a great group of people to work with. It's definitely high up on our list.
A major improvement, bringing Stone in for the alestands this year. Now if only Ale 1 could be made as comfortable as Ale 2, or better yet, work it out with the powers that be to open up the ale jails and set us free, it would be a nearly perfect faire.
So I guess we'll see you at Big Bear next, huh?
