Sunday was the last day of my week long getaway vacation. It's been a fun week, and I feel a bit more relaxed now that it's done.
A couple of members of Oojam told me about a show called "The History of Belly Dancing" in Victorville, a little town on the edge of nowhere in the desert. This was offered by the High Desert Center for the Arts - a very nice little theater with quite an impressive lineup of shows.
Anyway, I drove the 90 miles to the town, had some lunch, and went to the theater to watch thw show. I was early, like I usually am, and took the time to talk with my friends in Oojam. I like these people.
The show was great, and included several acts from Oojam, plus other belly dancing acts including Burning Incense (very impressive), Basinah Samai, Selenya troi, Jacqueline, The Sirens and a few others. I really enjoyed the show, as it had everything from Renaissanace Faire style acts all the way to punk/gothic.
Afterwards, I was invited to dinner by Marjhani and spent the next two hours having pleasant conversations with some friends. It was the first time I'd eaten middle eastern food, which actually was quite a bit better than I expected.
All in all, a very fun way to spend a hot Sunday afternoon with some friends.

I didn't take a lot of pictures this time, as the theater was very dark. I got a few, and tried taking some videos. They came out very dark. It's uploading now.
