A Little Blue but doing fine

Fri, May 26, 2006 - 6:05 PM

It's been a long, hard month. We put in a new computer system and it's been very cranky. I'm in charge of that project, and I am getting it back on track, but it's been a very difficult road.

But in spite of putting in 70 hours a week on this project, I was determined to go to the faire, and that was a great move. It definitely was a challenge, but I looked forward to Irwindale for a whole year, and I wasn't about to drop it now. It was tough, dragging myself over there after working for 36 hours and still enjoying the Belles or the Wives, but it sure helped keep me sane.

On top of all that, life continues. My little doggy has needed attention. He's a pomoranian (purebred) and cute as hell. He had to spend some time at the vet for a skin infection this month, but he's doing better now. I have two cats, and they miss me, I think, because I've been way to busy to give them much attention.

I was a little blue this week. The faire is over. Yeah, I am going to go to the other faires, but the Southern one was special. I miss my lady, she passed away in 2005, and sometimes I wonder if there is anyone else for me anywhere. I'm under stress from the job and life sometimes just seems to be overwhelming.

On the other hand, I am healthy, I am almost out of debt and I have a great job. I am working on a novel, a fantasy, and studying towards a CIW (certified internet webmaster) and MCSE (an upgrade from an earlier Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification.

This weekend, I think I'll check out the Corona faire. I've been there before and it was very nice. I may also go hiking in Joshua tree. I love that place for some reason. It's getting towards summer, and it won't be fun to hike there for the next few months due to the heat.

I maintain another site - www.roseworks.com - which has over 200,000 pictures I've taken during my travels. You see, I love to travel all over California, it helps me think and maintain my calm, and I love to take pictures.

Hugs ;-}

Les, Bevan and I were just discussing going to Corona as patrons - mayhap we'll see you there?!

went to tear down... for me it helps with the de-toxing of the faire addiction... and looked for folks with cameras... but alas no one was out... many many years ago at glen helen we used to take pix of tear down, and make bets as to how many skunks would be living under our hootches and booths... the stripped otter-cats are missed...

I won't have the transport out to corona... so... I'll hopefully see folks at either Balboa or at Ojai, Vegas or Escondido...

It was a great run this year... Thanks for helping make the magic!

We had a nest of baby bunnies under the kitchen last season.

This year it was just spiders.
