At one point during high school, Dan and I worked together on a novel. We never finished the thing, but we did get a pretty solid outline completed. I’ve included a few paragraphs from that outline below.
Opening statement: Verse pertaining to Satan’s revolt against heaven.
Prolog: Meeting of several angels to discuss how they are going to end the threat of Satan. The name Ezra is mentioned. They declare that Satan must be allowed to reign without God’s interference, (the reason is not stated), but that his present activities must be halted. The meeting breaks up on this note.
BOOK I
I. Interview
Justin is engaged in a conversation with several men whom we later find are involved in a conspiracy against the empire, and are questioning Justin to see if they can involve him in it.
II. A Walk In The Fog
Justin leaves the bar with two men (above) who have decided that Justin is the one that they are seeking. They explain that they wish to have Justin join them in their attempt to overthrow the empire. One of the men, Balb’ Akar, has a dagger which, he claims, is the weapon that must be used by Justin to kill the emperor of the world - Sen Ekk Eens. Justin refuses to join their group. As he walks away, Balb’ tells a third man to stalk and kill Justin.
III. Lips Forever Sealed
Justin is stalked by the man mentioned above. Justin suspects his purpose and flees. He finally shakes his pursuer, but finds he has stumbled into a stormtroopers barracks.
IV. The Hunted
Justin has not been discovered by the Stormtroopers yet. He does not remember the way out of the barracks. He despairs and panics. He begins to run. From a narrow alleyway, a hand reaches out and snags Justin as he runs by. Another hand goes over his mouth. He fights and is hit over the head.
V. Ezra Cum Um Irsiene
Justin awakes and finds that he is in a small dirty room. A man is seated on a bench. They get to talking; The man is named Ezra Cull Um Irsiene. He saved Justin in the Stormtroopers barracks. He found the man that was hunting Justin and killed him. Then he followed Justin and saved him. Justin asks why. Ezra tells him of the empire and the Golden Mace. He says that he helped Justin so that he could come with him to use the mace to destroy Sen Ekk Eens. Justin agrees to go with him in this chapter or the next.
